Sanaa Hyder, MSEd, LMHC
Sanaa Hyder is a therapist with over six years of experience starting-up and designing clothing and bag lines and doing international manufacturing.
Having lived and grown up in five countries, she is sensitive to the expat experience, having immigrant parents, and identity issues inherent in being “third culture”.
Her business and interpersonal experiences have nurtured her interest in meaning-making, living a good life, and seeking purpose. She works to help clients balance their desire for creativity, family, and purpose.
Her travels and interpersonal experiences have also made her aware of the types of trauma - whether direct or second-hand, that we can suffer due to an event, a place, or through our complex family histories.
Sanaa’s approach to therapy is based on the idea that we are all imbued with the capacity to self-actualize with the right guidance and kindness along the way. Her approach is integrative and is tailored to the individual needs of the client. Sanaa works with a wide range of individuals seeking a supportive environment while dealing with concerns such as anxiety, spirituality, existential issues, career transition, creative roadblocks, emotion management, and relationship issues.
Sanaa’s perspective towards her “practice” is just that - to practice; to grow and to learn while working and collaborating with other people who are also looking to get better at the “practice” of living.
Sanaa has a Bachelors degree in Business Management from Babson College, a Fashion Marketing degree from Parsons the New School for Design, and a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University.
